Van Roey 2010: "Cinta" y"Esfera"

En 1978, el grupo Van Roey en Bélgica, impulsado por su ex presidente John De Muynck, comenzó a desear el Año Nuevo a sus clientes con un grabado original. En cada ocasión, cinco artistas jóvenes y consagrados de toda Europa y exterior, representan un tema en común a través de su cultura y diferentes técnicas.

Para la 33ª edición de este año 2010-2011, el título escogido para el tema fue "Ladies paint the Blues", la melancolía, lo azul. Bajo este tema realicé una serie de cuatro planchas, de las cuales elegí "Esfera" y "Cinta".

In 1978, the group Van Roey in Belgium, led by former president John De Muynck, began to wish their New Year to their customers with an original print. On every occasion, five artists from all of Europe and abroad, are carefully chosen to represent a particular subject. Topic that will be enriched by the culture and differents techniques of young artist and established.

For this new edition 33ª of this year 2010-2011, the title chosen was "Ladies paint the Blues" the melancholia, the blue. Under that theme I created a series of four plates, from which I chose "Esfera" and "Cinta".

La mecedora

Nunca tengo tiempo de contar algo en directo, de hecho creo que llevo un año de retraso en el blog, je, je. Este viernes se inauguró  "Bon Voyage" en Conca. En ellas participa mi obra "La mecedora" memoria de un tiempo pasado y la acción del individuo en un tiempo presente. La podrás visitar hasta finales del mes de octubre. I have never time to say something in time live, in fact I think that I have a year behind on the blog, heh, heh. Friday was opened  "Bon Voyage" in Conca. "La cortina" with Tradigital Printmaking in Atelier Blauwhof

Durante el verano de 2010, a finales del mes de Julio una amiga Astrid Deneckere junto con Julie Lenaerts y Wilfried Pulinckx impartían el workshop: "TRADIGITAL PRINTMAKING- Graphics arts in Motion"en el Atelier Blauwhof en Kessel, Bélgica. El taller consistía en la creación de una animación partiendo de la serigrafía, elementos encontrados en el entorno, pintura, acetato, arena... Más tarde se fotografió cada elemento con la finalidad de crear un aparente movimiento y finalmente acabado con un programa de animación. Fueron cinco días fascinantes e intensivos.Todo en un entorno incomparable, buen ambiente y exquisita comida bajo la supervisión, atención y dedicación plena de Kity y Christiane. Este año repiten. During the summer of 2010 at the end of july, a friend of mine, Astrid Deneckere, together with Julie lenaerts and Wilfried Pulinckx taught the workshop: "TRADIGITAL PRINTMAKING- Graphics arts in Motion" in the Atelier Blauwhof in Kessel, Belgium. The workshop consisted in the creation of an animation based on the silkscreen, elements found in the enviroment, paint, acetate, sand...Later was photographed each item so as to create an apparent movement and finally it was finished with a animation program. Those five days were exciting and intensive. All surrounded by an magnificent setting, a wounderful atmosphere and great food under the supervision and care of Kity and Christiane. Pruebas de Estado: P/E o EA.

Cuando te enfrentas a la realización de un grabado, el proceso de ejecución y acabado requiere en ocasiones de la repetición de varios pasos (barnizar, morder y entintar) una y otra vez. 

Por ejemplo, para definir mejor los negros o retocar cualquier arrepentimiento, o bien, si se desea utilizar el empleo de otras técnicas para la creación de la imagen como (punta seca, aguatinta o la conjunción con otras técnicas diferentes al aguafuerte como el grabado en madera, litografía o serigrafía, collagraph), necesitaremos realizar alguna impresión para poder cuadrar todas ellas. 

Durante este proceso, nos haremos con una serie de estampas diferentes entra ellas, en las que se apreciará la evolución de la imagen y podremos ver el estado en el que se encuentra la imagen. Estas estampas son conocidas como P/E  (Pruebas de Estado), tal como anotaremos y se leerá en el borde inferior izquierdo de la imagen. También es usual encontrar las siglas escritas en francés E/A (Epreuvè d'Artiste). Por último decir que no tienen valor comercial.

When you face the realization of an engraving, the execution process and finishing sometimes requires of the repetition of steps ( varnish, bite and ink) one and another time. 

This happens when we want to define better the black or retouch any repentance, and if we want to build up our image using other techniques as (drypoint, aquatint or conjunction with other different techniques to the etching such as woodcut, lithography and silkscreen, collagraph) we usually need to make some prints to fix all them together. 

During this process, we perform a number of different prints on them where we can appreciate the evolution of the image, and knowing the state where they are. These prints are known as P/E (state tests) as we will write and read at the bottom left of the image. It is also usual to find these capital letters written in French E/A (Epreuve d'Artiste). Finally say that they do not have any commercial value.
