Exposición nuevos Miembros 2012 en Fyns Grsfiske Vaesrsted
En octubre de 2011, entré como nuevo miembro del Fyns Grafiske Vaerksted, situado en Odense, Dinamarca, tras haberlo visitado en el mes de mayo del mismo año.
Fue una visita casual, me encontraba en el Museo de mi admirado escritor de cuentos clásicos populares y cuentos de hadas Hans Christian Andersen. Mi sorpresa fue cuando al salir del Museo, frente a mi estaba este Taller y me quedé prendada de él, me pareció acogedor, familiar un lugar ideal para trabajar. Así que presenté mi solicitud en septiembre para poder entrar como miembro del mismo. Felizmente en noviembre me llegó la confirmación.

In October 2011, I became a new member of Fyns Grafiske Vaerksted Workshop, located in Odense, Denmark, after I had visited in May of that year.
It was a casual visit, I was in the museum of my admired writer of classic folk stories and fairy tales Hans Christian Andersen. My surprise was when I was leaving the Museum and I saw in front of me this Workshop. I was captivated of it, a warm place, familiar and ideal to work. So I applied to join as a member in September. Fortunately, in November I got the admission.

Exposición de invierno en Fyns Grafiske Værksted.
El 6 de enero comenzó una nueva exposición de nuevos artistas que se han unido al Fyns Grafiske Værksted 2011, que muestra un amplio espectro de técnicas y de su propia imaginería.
Los artistas son: Mette Dalquist, Patricia Delgado, Elmelund Margit, Jette Adis Ewerlöf, Malene Linell Ipsen, Jeppesen Jonna, Patrón de Elmar, Rasmussen Majken, Stephan Schmidt, Sundholm Lillian, Peter Thomsen Kofoed.
Bienvenidos a la vista privada el viernes 6 de de enero a las. 14-17, para tomar una copa y la oportunidad de ver y hablar con los artistas, o echar un vistazo al taller.
La exposición se podrá ver hasta el 1de febrero, en el horario de la galería de martes a viernes 13:00-17:00 y sábados. 10:00 a 14:00 o por cita.

New Members 2012
Fine winter exhibition in Fyns Grafiske Værksted.
On 6th January it has started a exhibition of new artists who have joined the Fyns Grafiske recently. They called Værksted 2011, It shows a wide spectrum of techniques and their own imagery.
The artists are: Mette Dalquist, Patricia Delgado, Margit Elmelund, Jette Adis Ewerlöf, Malene Linell Ipsen, Jonna Jeppesen, Elmar Pattern, Majken Rasmussen, Stephan Schmidt, Lillian Sundholm, Peter Kofoed Thomsen.
Welcome to the private view on Friday 6 January at. 14-17, for a drink - with the opportunity to see and talk with the artists, or take a look into the workshop.
The exhibition can be seen until the first February in the gallery hours Tuesday-Friday 13:00 - 17:00 and Saturday. You could also visit from 10.00 to 14.00 or by appointment.

Nye Medlemmer 2012
Fin vinterudstilling i Fyns Grafiske Værksted.
Den 6. januar starter en ny udstilling med de nye kunstnere som er blevet optaget i Fyns Grafiske Værksted 2011. De viser et bredt spektrum af teknikker og deres helt eget billedsprog.
Kunstnerne er: Mette Dalquist, Patricia Delgado, Margit Elmelund, Jette Adis Ewerlöf, Malene Linell Ipsen, Jonna Jeppesen, Elmar Mønster, Majken Rasmussen, Stephan Schmidt, Lilian Sundholm, Peter Kofoed Thomsen.
Velkommen til fernisering fredag den 6. januar kl. 14-17, til en forfriskning - med mulighed for at se og tale med kunstnerne, eller tage et kik ind i værkstedet.
Udstillingen kan ses frem til den 1. februar i galleriets åbningstid tirsdag-fredag kl.13.00 – 17.00 og lørdag kl. 10.00 – 14.00 eller efter aftale.

Edición para VII Symposium Internacional de Grabado Mojmirovce
Tras una semana fantástica, trabajando, comiendo, incluso bailando, compartiendo experiencias junto a otros artistas del grabado, durante el VII Symposium Internacional de Grabado en Mojmirovce, cada uno de nosotros realizó un grabado bajo el tema: "Caballos". Esta es mi versión titulada "Lazada". Se ha realizado una tirada de 100 impresiones que ha sido estampada por Martin Stepanek. Cada autor hemos recibido la edición para ser firmada. Una vez lista y empaquetada, estas regresarán a su país de origen en Eslovaquia.
En cuanto reciba la carpeta, con las estampas de cada uno de los artistas, publicaré unas fotos de ellas en el blog.

After a fantastic week working, eating, even dancing, and sharing experiences with other graphic artists, during the VII International Graphic Symposium Mojmirovce, each of us made an engraving on the theme: "Horses". This is my version called "Lacing." A hundred prints has been printed by Martin Stepanek of any etching, and right now, every author have received it back to sign it. Once ready and packaged again, they have returned to Slovakia.
As soon as I receive the entire folder with one of every print of all of the artist I am going to publish some images of them.
Meanwhile, I show my own work for it.

Melanie Yazzie enTenerife
Melanie Yazzie es una artista estadounidense, actualmente profesora asociada de Arte en la Universidad de Colorado en Boulder y miembro indígena de la Nación Navajo. Posee una larga trayectoria profesional con obras que forman parte de numerosas colecciones permanentes y museos. Ha expuesto tanto a nivel nacional como internacional en una quincena de países entre los que se encuentran Estonia, Irlanda, Nueva Zelanda, Francia, Rusia, Canadá, Irlanda del Norte, Corea, China, Sudáfrica, Reino Unido, Australia, Argentina y otros lugares por venir.
Yazzie nos cuenta que la forma de crear del pueblo Navajo es a través del pensamiento, motor principal de su obra y de su vida profesional. Los temas claves de su trabajo pretenden acercar las comunidades rurales indígenas a nivel local, nacional y mundial, por medio de la observación de la naturaleza, los animales y el arquetipo femenino. La representación de la naturaleza, en su trabajo es central en la actualidad. Las obras están llenas de colores brillantes y alegres, aunque en ocasiones, la historia contada puede centrarse en aspectos difíciles de la mujer indígena.
Su obra, más narrativa en sus inicios, relata sus vivencias como Navajo contemporáneo para posteriormente llegar a un acercamiento y conexión con las experiencias del pueblo indígena desde un pasado través del tiempo presente. Su conocimiento y experiencia en el campo de la creación artística, el proceso, la investigación intelectual y el intercambio teórico con artistas y no artistas, se plasma en su obra bajo el intento de tejer todas estas ideas y pensamientos junto a otros niveles, evolucionado a través de diversas disciplinas artísticas como el dibujo, el grabado, la pintura, la escultura y técnica mixta.

Artist Statement
In the Navajo way we create the world with our thoughts, this grounds and motivates my work as an artist, as a teacher, an Indigenous person who is a member of the Navajo Nation and as faculty of the University of Colorado. The key themes and processes central to my work include: outreach to rural communities on the local, national and global level with Indigenous people, observing nature, animals and the female archetype.
My work has evolved over the past several decades. I had begun with the narrative impulse, to describe what is my comtemporary Navajo experience. This approach has grown to include finding connections between Indigenous peoples’ experience from the past through to the present time. Currently I have been making work using the mediums of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media.
The representation of nature, plants and animals in my work is central at present. The paintings and drawings are layered and reference humor and facts about our oral histories. The images reference places I have been to or places I have dreamed of. The work also holds images of female forms that are self portraits of myself in this time of change, the time in which women come into a different phase of life. The works are full of bright colors and look some what cheerful, the story behind the works at times can be focused on the difficult aspects of womanhood.
Much research goes into the making of my work and it is odd what some people believe should be seen as “real” Native American art. This is real and current and often surprises native people as well and non native people. In this way I am educating my viewers and sharing a different point of view.
I continue to contribute to my artistic profession by constantly pushing forward and using my knowledge and expertise in my field of art making, process, intellectual inquiry, and theoretical exchange with artists and non art people (in and outside of Native America). The works are an attempt to weave all these ideas and thoughts together on many levels.
